Yo! Hello to all the fans! Oops, somebody dropped a pin.
My first twit (not including my ex-wife) here.
Great to be rehearsing again after many sessions in the recording studio mixing our first CD. It's in the master phase now and almost done. Trying to get an Odilon Redon charcoal sketch for the cover but I'm not sure about permission. He's been dead for almost a century, so it's public domain. However, permission must be granted for the book or website that publishes a copy of the work ("Cactus Head", I believe.)
Band sounding very tight minus a bassist, but the search goes on. If you know anyone… Drop us a line anytime. Later, Trip.
Ok,
Mastering is done. Graphic design is done and will be sent off to the factory soon. There is a two-week turnaround but that is not a problem as we are not playing out yet. The Odilon Redon drawing will be the album cover, however it may actually be a lithograph, not a charcoal sketch. I will find out, as knowing is important. Anyway, looks really evil. Also, the title almost was "…Because I'm Evil", but we went with the more classic self-titled choice. You only get one first album. Trip
The cover art is often called "The Cactus Man", however, it seems much of Redon's work is untitled or variously titled. Regardless, it remains eerie and uncanny. It goes great with metal, I think, and lies squarely in the realm of classic NWOBHM album art.
