Bio
Truest Damned is a classic metal band based in New York City. Steeped in the traditions of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM), Truest Damned picks up where bands like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and Holocaust left off, playing the kind of old school, melodic, heavy rock that made the British Isles famous.
Truest Damned is currently in the studio finishing up their debut album, with a planned release date in late 2009. The band is working closely with engineer Dave Roman to hone their sound at The Fort recording studio in Brooklyn. The band is also revamping its line-up with the addition of a new bass player to prepare for live performances upon release of the debut CD later this year.
The debut album will feature songs written by Truest Damned lead singer, drummer, and founder, Trip Wilder, often exploring the darker side of life. Lead guitarists Jimmy Pena and Ed Jalowiecki trade fiery solos throughout the tracks, with the latter contributing lead vocals to one of his self-penned compositions. With a nod to their Spanish-speaking audience, the album will also include two special bonus tracks en espanol.
Formed in 2000 by Trip Wilder, Truest Damned has been playing shows since late 2002 and plans to continue headlining and opening for other local and national metal acts in the NYC area. The band has played gigs all over Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Long Island, NY, always to audiences who appreciated the return of the old school.
Truest Damned has succeeded in creating a unique style and sound, while still demonstrating that they are deeply rooted in true classic metal. The band is currently writing the story for their hard rock future, welcoming audiences worldwide to hear their music the way it was intended: LOUD, HARD & HEAVY!
Heavy Metal still f*ckin' rules!
